How much does it cost to ship my item(s)?
Shipping is calculated during the checkout process and shown to you before you complete your order. Standard shipping for orders under $150 is $10.99. Shipping for orders over $150 before taxes is discounted to $5.99. Your order will be shipped within 3 business days. Delivery within Canada typically takes from 2-9 business days depending on the distance. We use Canada Post for most of our shipping.
Where are your products shipped from?
All our products are shipped from our shop and studio at 80 Mary Street, Port Moody, BC V3H 2N7. Our sewing classes and events all take place at this studio.
What is your refund policy for class registrations?
To be fair to those who sign up for classes and events particularly those on the waiting lists we have a cancellation and refund policy.
Full registration payment is required to reserve your spot in a class or event. Cancellations made more than 1 week in advance of the class or event will receive a 50% refund. For cancellations made less than 7 days in advance no refund will be given. If we have to cancel a class due to low enrolment you will receive a full refund. Alternatively you can transfer the registration to another class or event.
For custom parties we do not issue refunds. If the party is cancelled with at least 3 weeks notice we will issue a credit to use against any of our offerings or products.
What is your refund policy for products?
No returns on cut merchandise e.g. fabric by the metre. Damaged or defective goods can be returned for replacement, refund or store credit. We will refund the shipping costs in the instance that your goods are defective. Other items can be returned for store credit within 30 days of receipt of your goods.
Sewing machines: returns can be made on unopened boxes within 15 days of purchase. Within 15 days opened boxes can be returned for a 15% restocking fee. No returns on damaged machines. The warranty on new machines covers parts and labour for 2 years, electrical defects for 2 years, and manufacturer's defects for 25 years.
What about sales tax?
GST (5%) and PST (7%) are charged in British Columbia. Residents in Alberta, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Quebec, Saskatchewan and Yukon GST (5%) are only charged. HST (13%) is charged for New Brunswick, Newfoundland Labrador and Ontario residents. Nova Scotia residents are charged HST (15%). Prince Edward Island residents are charged HST (14%). Class registrations are charged GST only.
